I Stand staring at the crowd. They walk past me without
noticing my existence. Some are on their phones, some are chatting and some are
in their own hurry.
I wonder what is common and different in these people, how
can they have a just cause for their existence? I stop a person and ask him, “why
are you running?”
His reply was guessed, “ what is troubling you?”
It wasn’t my question that disturbed him, it was the state
of his mind that determined his emotion. He was already frustrated that he was
late and my interrogation was no support to his cause.
We have similar situations in our life, where we face
frustrations and depression because we are not able to get or take what is
rightfully ours. It could be our words are not heard, our feelings are not
accepted, our thoughts are rejected or just that we are not appreciated. There
is so much of turmoil within us and we fail to understand the question of our
existence.
The cause of our life is then lost, we are drawn into the
magnetic pull of survival. The run of the bear and the bull, we are in the
market of animals. We feed on the fears and anxieties of our fellow beings.
Never are we in the middle, always in the extreme.
The dawn of realization sets in, in middle age, that’s when
we start to ask our self. Who am I? what is my cause? How can I make it better
or worse for myself?
One begins to see the difference between material and
emotional needs. You start to feel the urge for a touch, a smile, a hand shake.
The family and friends grow in value and we want to be with them. Some exceptions
are there to people who want to be left alone and not be in touch with the
human touch. That too is a realization, the selfishness of being to oneself is
keeping one happy with cause.
I am seeing a change in society today, the population no
longer cares of the other and there is very little confidence in the self. The
change of society has to be in the mind and not the body.
If we can unearth the cause of our existence, the need for
life will then be different. We will not be the society of needs and greeds but
the society of giving and sharing. When this day dawns on man, the run will
stop and the glorification of mankind will take birth.
You will see a different world to live in and life will no
longer be of the rich by money but rich by sharing.
