Why?

I walk in the park and see many people. The faces tell me a story and I like to read these stories.

The stories are regular features of hate, love, depression, sadness, remorse and the other parts of life. In one of my walks, I sat by a bench and was in my own thoughts when an elderly gentleman came to sit next to me. He was in pain and I could read the story on his face. Duty bound and looking to better the world, I ventured to speak with him.

"Good evening, sir! Isnt this a beautiful place to be"

I dont think he wanted to speak and shared a mute reaction to my statement. I also did not venture further as it was his choice to be on his own and I should respect it.

I sat there on my own realising we are the cause of the why!

Why did this happen to me? Why am I suffering? Why can't good things happen to me? Why am I always the loser?

The "why" in our lives is a place that we are not able to remove./We chose to make ourselves the victim rather than the winner. By questioning our situation at that moment, we forget to understand the universe and it's creation. And since we fail to understand the universe, we fail to understand ourselves.

The question we could be asking ourselves is, why was I born? why did I get to breathe life? why did the sun rise from the east and set in the west? why do plants have veins on their leaves? why do I have veins inside my skin?

Let your mind wander to the nature of truth and realisation. There is a lot, you and I can learn from nature and we can have ourselves associated with such beauty that we would realise how nature forms the part of our universe. In finding the answers to these questions, we will be better equipped to find the answers of life.

No, we do not have to become a sage or a sanyasi or wander off into the jungle to find the answers. All we need to do it take the time in the course of lives to notice people around us, notice the environment around us. See how life builds itself around us. We are part of the universe, there is a reason for our birth and our lives. Find the purpose of your life, and keep asking the why till you have a suitable answer to it.

The pursuit of the Why will bring you to the feet of your problems which you can dust and walk along with a smile.

Remember, all you need to do is ask, "Why?"

Do I have a laugh within me?

I love watching comedy shows, I love attending stand-up comedy, I love these romantic/ thriller/ action movies/soaps/ serials. It's common to like something that is viewed on the TV or attend a movie or play or festival of a genre. What we fail to understand is why we like these genres?

The different genres showcase a part of us that we miss, we want it in our lives but are too scared to follow it through. We may need some action, love, relationship, hate, anguish in different forms but are never able to make it possible.

Do we try to ask ourselves this question? Is this what I would like to do in my life? Why would I spend time listening to songs that are depressing or movies that make me miserable. Knowing or unknowingly we always put ourselves into harms way by pushing the envelope too far. We ourselves are not able to gauge the damage we do when we align ourselves to the ego of our body.

The soul has no attachment to the material side of life hence is always happy. The body has the sense of anger, frustration, depression, happiness, joy, sorrow, etc. These emotions are a result of our body creating a sense of loss in our minds and that doesn't allow us to control our environment. When we loose our control we create an imbalance in our emotions. This leads to that emptiness to be filled with your spike in anger, frustration, depression, etc.

The body is the second signal that will tell you how your emotions hurt you. Most cancer patients have an imbalance of anger within them. Thyroid and lower back patients are ones with submerged resentment. There are many more such examples which I will share and you may read in the next write up for your reference.

The point is, do we ask ourselves whether we are leading a soul fulfilment life or a life of mine and yours?

Do we do things that make us happy or give glory to our ego to build its esteem?

All these questions surely do have answers, but the answers are unique for each individual and cannot be generalised to make it a group answer.

Questions we can ask the person in the mirror will give us a standing ovation when the gates of heaven open and we have to walk through.

Life

Life is a series of actions, these actions causes a reaction and the cycle continues.

Birth is the beginning of life, we are groomed into the houses that we are brought up in. These houses are moulded by the society it dwells in. The society moulded by the state and the state by the country.

The countries then try to copy or create a new way of living for the others to follow or will follow another countries ways of life. The young forget their past and look to be someone they are not.

These instances are happening world over and are very generalistic.

Life has become a barter. We have to give to get, and to get you have to be able to demand and ask for what could be yours. Money has become the instrument of love, friendship and other relations.

A person today is not judged by his/ her character but the bank balance the he chooses to keep. The host of a party is the one who is the most loved. The giver of freebies is the best politician. The makers of wealth are the most revered.

These days life has come to be economic for families to forget about the basic needs of each family. There is a need to be rich and satisfied, that some parents forget that a child only requires their time and love. There is no need of the other fancies that we think are a need for the child.

Life! Is it then a boon or a bane?

A question that only we can answer when we have the need to make it either. We can choose to be happy through out our days without any worry or we can choose to life a stress and troubled life.

Guess, who is deciding for us?

Am I happy?

I often meet people who smile at all their challenges in life and absorb the stress. But many a times I also meet people who are not able to take the challenges in life and go into moods of frustration, depression, anxiety, anger, stress.

In my search for the answers of life and helping others, I realised one basic feature that was common in all the people who were not able to manage their challenges. This one feature of their lives was completely missed out and they were in a state of confusion which led them to believe that they are sick.

Added to this, the medical fraternity never tries to understand the need of the individual to earn the extra money. They are always trying to find ways to ask the person to come back for another session, another test, another meeting. While I do not brand them wrong, I have a view that we can have a better solution for these individuals. There are many options and some are as simple as the one feature of their lives which they forgot to focus on.

This feature that they missed out on is, their self. All the individuals who I met have knowledge of the world and their surroundings but were never in-sync with the knowledge of themselves. They took time to think what their favourite colours were, what foods they would like to eat, what time of day was their favourite and many more aspects of their lives  in the category of likes and dislikes.

These individuals were not sure who they were themselves. They had dedicated their lives in the others benefits or keeping the family, friend or associate happy that they forgot their own happiness.

There is thin line between being selfish and being happy for the self. The matter has a simple judgement, " You cannot share happiness, if you are sad". I would ask some of the people who were in the saddened state to tell me a joke or to try to make me laugh. It was invariably impossible for them to do so.

The only step that is available for all of us to keep ourselves happy is to look in the mirror and praise the person there. Give the person the credit that he/she is breathing, the heart is beating, the blood is flowing.

If you know a person who is in a saddened state in life, ask them to notice the beautiful lines of their palms. This is a relaxing method used for most people in the years gone by before Modern medicine had its feet in the sand.

Looking at the palms of your hands gives you the sense of amazement to the wonder of creation. The lines on the palms are your guide to life. Watch it and get amazed at what you are going to know of your self. The difference in your life is in your hands.

Where are we going?

The thought of an apocalypse. The end of the world, the end of days.

This has been said for many years and centuries deep. But nothing has happened yet. The creation of this fear is the sense of many people.

Fear is the cause of strife and disease. The fear in you is created because this is how we have a sense of stability in society.

The fear of stealing, the fear of physical hurt and abuse, the fear of loss, the fear of death, the fear of hell and heaven. We are constantly asked to fear the unknown and made to believe in the world we have have never seen or felt.

What happens if we remove this fear? What will happen to the world? What will happen to the I?

It is something one can only experience, I cannot be the one to let you know how it feels to be free of fear. You will have a different view of what you feel and understand to be fearless.

A suicide bomber is fearless because he has been motivated for a better life after death and there is no other way of enlightment. On the other hand, a soldier is motivated to protect his family and country for the fear of their loss and hurt, he puts himself in harms way.

But we as individuals in society are failing to see how we can make our lives better and engage our ways to make the world a better place. One person at a time.

We walk with a blind eye to the wrongs happening around us in our neighbourhood or society. Then we blame the others for the wrongs. But we do not stand up for the just and take a stand to make a difference in one persons life.

There is a lot we can change, we can make this place a healthier, loving and secure for our families. If we as individuals choose to then we can. We have to take a stand, make a decision and implement the thought. There will be a avalanche of a change and the others will be surprised if only 10% of the populations change can influence a change in another 10 % of the populations. We would then have about 50% of the population in a positive and actionable medium in the next decade.

The world would then be a place of happiness and security without guns and bombs. Without hate speeches or arguments of ego.

My Existence

I Stand staring at the crowd. They walk past me without noticing my existence. Some are on their phones, some are chatting and some are in their own hurry.

I wonder what is common and different in these people, how can they have a just cause for their existence? I stop a person and ask him, “why are you running?”

His reply was guessed, “ what is troubling you?”

It wasn’t my question that disturbed him, it was the state of his mind that determined his emotion. He was already frustrated that he was late and my interrogation was no support to his cause.

We have similar situations in our life, where we face frustrations and depression because we are not able to get or take what is rightfully ours. It could be our words are not heard, our feelings are not accepted, our thoughts are rejected or just that we are not appreciated. There is so much of turmoil within us and we fail to understand the question of our existence.

The cause of our life is then lost, we are drawn into the magnetic pull of survival. The run of the bear and the bull, we are in the market of animals. We feed on the fears and anxieties of our fellow beings. Never are we in the middle, always in the extreme.

The dawn of realization sets in, in middle age, that’s when we start to ask our self. Who am I? what is my cause? How can I make it better or worse for myself?

One begins to see the difference between material and emotional needs. You start to feel the urge for a touch, a smile, a hand shake. The family and friends grow in value and we want to be with them. Some exceptions are there to people who want to be left alone and not be in touch with the human touch. That too is a realization, the selfishness of being to oneself is keeping one happy with cause.
I am seeing a change in society today, the population no longer cares of the other and there is very little confidence in the self. The change of society has to be in the mind and not the body.

If we can unearth the cause of our existence, the need for life will then be different. We will not be the society of needs and greeds but the society of giving and sharing. When this day dawns on man, the run will stop and the glorification of mankind will take birth.

You will see a different world to live in and life will no longer be of the rich by money but rich by sharing.
